Artist Opportunities – April 1st, 2023

City of Gladstone Pilot Mural Project (deadline is April 3rd, 2023)

A pilot mural project will work with the community to design and implement two high-quality outdoor painted murals that reflect the tourism themes and content highlighted by the community. Two murals will focus on the theme of ‘Postcards of Gladstone’ with the subtext of “glad to be here!” Accompanying will be reproductions of the actual mural as printed postcards for distribution by various partners with licensing permission approved by selected artist. Troutdale Arts Festival 2023 (deadline is April 12th, 2023)

The Troutdale Arts Festival 2023 is moving to Downtown Troutdale and partnering with First Friday in June. The E. Historic Columbia Highway will close at 3pm on Friday, June 2nd for First Friday, an annual Troutdale event with vendors, music, food and more. The City of Troutdale, Local Businesses and Galleries will kick off their summer season on that Friday at 5pm. Learn more and apply here

Focus: Trees and Water (deadline is April 13th, 2023)

Black Box Gallery is excited to announce a juried group photo show on Trees and Water. This exhibition will look to feature both subjects in a dynamic and diverse exhibition on contemporary photography. Trees and Water are both powerful and important subjects. Water can be an ocean, a river, a pool, a fountain, rain or mist or fog, lakes, snow and waves. Learn more and apply here

Arts Commission Grant Program 2023 (deadline is April 28th, 2023)

Grant Amount – The program offers two tiers of funding: an Arts Commission Small Grant, from $250 – $2,499, and an Arts Commission Large Grant, from $2,500 – $10,000. Applicants for the Large Grant need to identify a 10% match toward the total program cost. Grant applications will be available from March 20, 2023- April 28, 2023. Final award decisions will be made at a special Arts Commission meeting on June 1, 2023. Learn more and apply here

Happy Valley Sculpture Garden Program (deadline is May 1st, 2023)

The City of Happy Valley is accepting submissions for the 2023-2025 Happy Valley Sculpture Garden Program exhibit. Sculpture applications are welcomed from people of all backgrounds, abilities and disabilities. Please find this cycle’s Call to Artists here. The Call includes a variety of resources, including selection criteria, a submission tutorial and display pad locations. Moreover, program staff are available to answer any questions and provide technical assistance (e.g., language translation and non-digital applications).
