Bruce Lee
I have been interested in photography since a very young age. It has grown into a passion over the years and has led me to explore many different genres. One of my first influences was Ray Atkeson who was an accomplished landscape photographer of the Pacific Northwest. Growing up in Illinois, my grandparents resided in Portland and sent my family a coffee table book of beautiful landscapes produced by Ray. It inspired me and I always had a yearning to live in Oregon. I moved to Portland when I was 21 and spent time photographing and enjoying the beauty of this region. Black and White photography became an interest in my early days of exploration and I utilized a darkroom for a couple years. When digital photography came on the scene, my wife bought me a digital camera and the learning curve increased quickly due to the immediate feedback. I studied under several talented photographers and eventually started a side business in photography doing weddings, portraits, and later started to show my work at local art shows. My recent influences have been landscape photographers such as Marc Adamus, Lijah Hanley, and the members of Photo Cascadia. I love to go out with my camera scanning the environment for interesting and inspiring images. The process of photography still fascinates me. I love the thought of someone hanging one of my images on their wall sharing the same frozen moment in time that inspired me to capture the image.
