Program: Vona Adams-Lawrence Presents Impasto and Palette Knife Painting
With Joint issues I have had to adapt to a different style of painting using palette knives and thick paint to achieve a textured look to my paintings.
Palette knife painting is a term used to describe the impasto technique of applying paint to canvas using several styles of painting knives. 19th-century master painter Vincent van Gogh is one artist who was known to use the method.
An Italian word for “mixture,” used to describe a painting technique wherein paint is thickly laid on a surface, so that brushstrokes or palette knife marks are visible.
