Artist Contract

All work exhibited must be original art produced by the artist. Work done by a production studio is not acceptable. Buy-sell and/or imports are not allowed. Work from kits, commercial designs, done in classes or workshops, and derivative work are also prohibited.

Exhibited work must be consistent in style, quality, and method with juried images.

All artwork exhibited must be for sale. Pricing should be clearly marked. Artists should maintain enough merchandise throughout the weekend to have a well-stocked display.

Artists are responsible for all sales transactions. Be prepared with a credit card reader and change for cash purchases. All Artists keep 100% of their sales income from the show and are responsible for paying any appropriate taxes.

Three Rivers Open Studios reserves the right to use all submitted images and trade names in any marketing activities.

Three Rivers Open Studios is a “rain or shine” event. Artists agree to be on-site during open studio hours, regardless of weather. In preparation for our unpredictable Pacific Northwest weather, your booth space must be covered by a canopy and designed to withstand wind and inclement weather. Three Rivers Open Studios suggests that all canopies are secured with a minimum of 40 pounds of weight on each corner. Artists are required to bring their own tents, weights, chairs, tables, and all other items needed for their booths. Guest artists should discuss space and set up with their hosting studio.

There are no refunds on fees.

Three Rivers Open Studios and its volunteers and committee members are not financially liable for losses or damages of any kind. Booth artisans and hosting studios should make arrangements with their own insurance companies for proper coverage. Three Rivers Open Studios will not be held responsible for any theft or damage to an artist’s work or other personal property.

Artist further agrees to hold Three Rivers Open Studios, the committee, and any volunteers harmless for any and all problems and/or damage to their artwork, display, or studio.

Potential Three Rivers Artist Guild Open Studios

By Tamara Scott and Jeanne Kelley-Brown, Open Studios Coordinators

At our member meetings on November 14 (2022) and January 9th, the idea of having a TRAG-run Open Studios was proposed by some members. Jeanne Kelley-Brown and Tamara Scott are spearheading the beginnings of this project and want to assess member interest as well as member participation—we can’t do this alone!

In case you are not familiar with the Open Studios concept, here is a little explanation. Local artists open their home studio spaces for participants to come visit, view and purchase their art. If participating artists have room, they may also host 1-3 other artists who can set up in the house, the garage, or on the driveway, depending on what space is available. Portland Open Studios is HUGE, runs over two weekends, and had over 115 artists participate in 2022.
