Melissa Gannon, an accomplished acrylic artist from the Three Rivers Artist Guild in Oregon City, is offering online art classes. Not to be missed whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter.
I represent Red Trillium Gallery in Troutdale, Oregon. A local artist coop of 40 artists, which was opening its lower level for classes two weeks prior to the covid-19 shut down. We are now starting over with bookings, new policy, and direction due to the virus. With that being the case we are also lowering our classroom rental 50% through the end of July to get us back up and running. August will also have a discount on space rental.
Would you be interested in giving a class knowing we have room for social distancing? Troutdale being a nice, small safe place, to start reopening for classes. A chance to “Break Out Safely “. Edgefield is a great place for people to stay if students are interested in a workshop.
Place: Red Trillium Gallery 373 East Historic Columbia River Highway, Troutdale, OR, 97060 (map)
Three medium size garden stakes will be made during the class and will be taken back to my studio to be fused. They will be available to be picked up on April 13th at the gallery from 9:00am to 5:00 pm. If this does not work for you then can be picked up at my studio at agreed upon time. Price for the workshop is $65.00 and is to be paid when you sign up for the workshop. A release will be signed the day of the workshop.
Day One: Learn all of the resin basics with a hands on exercise. Plan and prep your large painting. Day Two: Follow your plan and do a base coat to support it. After a snack break, dive into the details! Day Three: Mount your hanger and clear coat with epoxy! Bring home a 12” by 16” beautiful ready to hang ocean themed art piece.

All water media artists
are invited to the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society (SWWS) sponsored workshop with Anji Grainger from
April 8
– 11, 2020. Elements of Texture & Design is the title of
this workshop to be held at the Sons of
Norway Lodge, 2400 Grant Street, Vancouver, WA.
From Anji . . . “As an instructor, I teach technique rather than a specificproject. I focus on building skills that apply to all types of painting, from abstract to representational art. This way the student can use what they learn in their own creative style.”
In this workshop we will
create
dynamic, textured patterns
by employing nontraditional techniques using plant materials, herbs, salt, stones and other elements. We will see how watercolor pigments react and
leave
beautiful patterns on our surfaces.
Seating is limited – register now. For Registration contact Rita Bingham at ritabing65@gmail.com. Or visit www.swwswatercolor.org for more information on the Spring Workshop. The cost is $350 (SWWS member) or $400 (non-member).
