The Holiday Show will be taking place on the weekend of December 3 and 4, 2022.
Times for the events will be: Saturday from 9 am till 4 pm and Sunday from 10 am till 4 pm.
Set up will be on Friday, December 2 from 3 pm till 7 pm. Please do not show up any earlier unless you are assisting with set up.
This show is for TRAG membership that have been juried into a TRAG event or the previous TRAG gallery.
As of October 17th, 2022, there are only 6 spaces still available. All spaces are 8 feet wide by 6 feet deep at $60. 33 spaces have been already taken.
If you are a returning artist from the 2021 show and would like to request the same location, please let us know.
You must have your own display set-up. There are several tables available at the facility: 3 tables measuring 30” by 96” and 9 tables measuring 30” by 72”. Please send in your request to Lynda.
This show will be first come with applications for participation. If we are unable to fill the event during this first Call to Artists, we’ll send out a second call the beginning of November.
Please include at least 2 photos of your work for advertising purposes. We’ll have a postcard created to post on Facebook and email to clientele.
You will receive notification of acceptance by the end of October along with further instructions and information on set up.

Gallery 114 invites you to submit your work based on “imaginative commitments that did not happen”, “answers to absurd hypothetical questions” or however “what if” strikes you! Please feel free to interpret this call in a serious or whimsical fashion. We will be seeking quality artistic expression that embraces this theme with creative integrity. We welcome all forms of painting and drawing, sculpture and photography, plus fiber arts, digital arts and more. We strive to be inclusive and open to seeing what you present for your entries.
Our gallery is one of the oldest art collectives on the west coast and is located in the heart of Portland, Oregon’s bustling arts playground, the Pearl District.
At Gallery 114, you can “expect the unexpected” because we are artist owned, artist run and artists unleashed. We encourage our members as well as jury participants to take risks and explore new and different creative efforts with underlying quality and integrity. We encourage emerging and established artists to apply.
For this show, “What If”, we turn our gallery over to innovative artists who test boundaries and dive into their sense of expressivd freedom.

THEME and CONTEST DESCRIPTION:
Photographers are invited to enter an original photo in the 2nd annual Brooks Resources Corporation calendar image contest. The Brooks Resources Wall Calendar features a professional photograph each year that captures the essence of Central Oregon. Distributed for free among area residents, visitors and businesses, the Wall Calendar is an annual staple in the region for the last 4 decades. Following the success of of last year’s contest, we are again hosting a contest for one Artist to have their photograph featured on the 2023 Wall Calendar and receive a grand prize of $1,500.
In the spirit of Halloween we will be learning all about insects that wear disguises to blend in or stand out. Did you know that some insects actually cover themselves with leaves, twigs or even poop to hide from predators?
After learning about these creative creatures we will decorate Halloween masks. We will have all kinds of supplies, so let your creativity run free! Students will also receive several beautiful illustrations that they will get to take home and decorate.

This class is for ages 6 and up
We will have 13 spots available, and parents are welcome to join their children.
About the instructor: Heather Andrews is a research entomologist at Oregon State University. She works at a university extension office in Aurora where she studies growing practices in orchard crops that minimize their negative impact on the environment while maximizing yield. In her free time Heather makes jewelry, draws and also plays the harp.
Arch Bridge Celebration on October 1st Community Art Project
The Arch Bridge Celebration takes place on October 1st. One of the events is a Community Art Project which TRAG members Trieste Andrews and Cathy Rowe are involved in. Carrie Gilbert from the West Linn Art Commission and Brian Krehbiel from the Confederated Tribes, who painted the mural funded by TRAG on the White Rabbit Cafe in Oregon City, completes the Team. The bridge will be shut down from 7 – 3pm with festivities all day including live music, a community art project with TRAG members participating, and a program of events. Volunteers are needed from 8:30am – 2:30pm to help out at the SWAG tables, Information Tables and as docents at the Old West Linn City Hall. Pitch in for 2 hours and then enjoy the celebration!
The Gallery at Oregon Society of Artists is proud to present Lasting Impressions: Print Showcase. This show will celebrate all forms of printmaking! From monotype to lithography, woodblock, risograph, and more, this non-juried exhibition features works made through the rich and varied traditions of printmaking.
Print processes, whether rigorous and repetitive, or singular gestures, rely on the moment of impression–the instance plate touches paper. This magical moment leaves a lasting impression, creating works of art that can offer rich tonal surfaces, bold graphic qualities, and atmospheric textures. Open to any and all subject matter, Lasting Impressions aims to showcase the beauty and diversity of printmaking in all of its multitude forms.
GUIDELINES
• This is a non-juried show, open to both OSA members and non-members.
• The theme is work made through printmaking processes.
• Open to all 2-d printmaking processes (lithography, lincouts, drypoint, aquatint, woodcuts, engraving, etching, risograph, screenprint, collograph, monotype, etc.)
• The entry fee is: OSA Members: $35 for up to 2 pieces Non-Members: $45 for up to 2 pieces
• Artworks and photographs should be works recently made within the last year and must not have been exhibited previously in the OSA gallery.
Wow, just wow! What an amazing event this year! We had well over 3,000 visitors during the weekend. The parking lot was always full all weekend! Saturday morning we saw a constant stream of people entering the festival! Our artists gave the festival an average of 8.8 appreciation rating. Many said this festival had the best sales they’ve seen in years!

Just a small example of the feedback from our artists. Truly heartwarming!
As the event coordinator, I would like to give kudos to our committee members who put in hours of planning to make this happen! Several members like Melody Bush were behind the scenes posting on Social Media daily. Yelena Shabrova kept all the applications and communications current. Ingrid Aubry used her magic creating our postcards, posters, banners, programs, and billboards for the event. Nancy Graham kept the financial information current along with those boring insurance details! Susan Woodworth signed up the music and food vendors, while being a vendor in the event and a television personality for our KATU commercial. Cathy Rowe manned the Silent Auction again this year and did her magic with the online bidding and gathering the auction items. Thank you to Tima Carlson and Soul Flags for hosting the Children’s Art activities. Lynne Collum created the artist booth signs and badges this year. Tamara Scott was the keeper of the key for the Storage Unit and always ready to help move supplies. Last but one of the most important committee chairs was Kerry Edwards who set up the volunteers for the festival. Kerry was invaluable and worked with me coordinating this event. She went above and beyond setting the volunteer schedules, she was my right hand in organizing the event! She always had a smile on her face even when trying to go in 2 directions at the same time!

Updated September 1st, 2022: Oregon City Festival of the Arts got Silver in the Best Festival in Oregon City from Readers Choice Awards through the Pamplin press!
We’re looking for an artist to paint a mural in the children’s area inside the Kalama Public Library!
The Kalama Public Library has received a donation for an original, hand-painted wall mural in the children’s area inside the library.
This mural will feature children, items specific to the Kalama community, and reference to chldren’s author Lois Lenski. This mural should be colorful and inspirational to chldren.
Any artist demonstrating ability to execute a successful mural is encouraged to apply.
The Arts3C Grant Program is currently available to support the making and sharing of artistic work in all disciplines and the development of the arts community in Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas County with awards up to $5,000.
Applicants may apply to support artistic output such as projects, programming, and presentations—or to support internal capacity such as operations, personal or professional development, and business investment.
The due date to apply for this opportunity is Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 5pm PDT.
RACC makes grant awards available to individuals, nonprofits, arts-based businesses, Limited Liability Companies (LLC), partnerships, and other legally organized entities.
Approved by Multnomah County voters in 2020, the Library Capital Bond Project will include expansions and renovations to seven branch libraries; building an East County flagship library; adding gigabit speed internet to all libraries; and creating a materials handling and distribution center, also known as the Library Operations Center. The renovation and expansion of Midland Library is part of the Chapter One Projects phase of the bond project. The exterior canopy artwork at the library is one of three public art elements intended for the new site.
In partnership with Multnomah County Library (MCL), the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) invites artists/artist teams living in Oregon and Washington to submit qualifications for a site-specific exterior artwork at the soon-to-be renovated library.
One artist/artist team will be selected to create a design for a 2-dimensional exterior artwork that will be installed on the underside of the canopy along the south side of the building, visible to vehicular traffic on SE 122nd Ave as well as pedestrians entering the library from the street and parking lot. The budget available for the commission comes from Multnomah County’s Percent for Art Program and is $40,000.
Submissions are due by Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 5 pm PDT.
